CMBA partners with the Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank a couple of times each year to help check-in with builders, developers and others involved in construction to see how things are going.  It helps guide the Federal Reserve in their monetary policies, and gives us insight into what is happening in our sector of the economy on a regional basis.

We just wrapped-up the latest survey, and we thank those of you who took time to complete it.

The Fall 2025 Construction Sector Survey had 263 complete responses (94% completion rate), and, on average, it took 8 minutes for a participant to go through the 20 questions and provide some details about their business. Most responses came from commercial and residential builders with some representation from industrial and infrastructure.

Just to give you a little preview, competition for available projects came up as the number one challenge faced by construction firms in the region.

On December 12th, the Federal Reserve will host a free webinar to share more detailerbout what we learned, and the overall status of the construction sector in our region of the country.  Erik Garcia Luna, Regional Outreach Director for the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, will walk us through the survey results and what they tell us as we head into 2026.  You can register for the free webinar by clicking here
