Come kick off the year with us as we enjoy coffee and rolls while we hear from Greg Berg, President of the Board of Directors at MECA (Minnesota Erosion Control Association).  MECA has played a key role in the evolution of effective standards and practices in stormwater management and erosion and sediment control. MECA has a proud history of highlighting the latest science, techniques and collaborative efforts in Minnesota.

Greg Berg is an Implementation Team Manager and Riparian Resources Specialist with the Stearns County Soil and Water Conservation District in Waite Park, MN. He has been with the district for over 22 years and on the MECA Board for 19 years. Responsibilities with the SWCD include: watershed management projects focusing on erosion control, stormwater management, wildlife habitat, agricultural systems, as well as shoreline and streambank restorations using bio-engineering methods. Using native plant materials and natural erosion control techniques with landowners and agencies has been a focus for him. He graduated from St. Cloud State University with a B.S. in Environmental Studies. Prior to employment with the SWCD, Greg worked for Stearns County Environmental Services and the MN DNR – Division of Waters, giving him a well-rounded background.
